Introduction
Hi! I'm Fiona-
Founder,
Builder,
and Full-time learner.
I move fast, break things (strategically), and love turning scrappy ideas into working products people actually want to use.
About
A thinker who builds fast and dreams even faster.
I'm a software engineer, startup founder, and full-time student at Trent University, currently in the MLH x Meta Production Engineering Fellowship. I’m learning how to manage Linux-based systems, write efficient bash scripts, and maintain virtual servers on DigitalOcean. And, I'm loving every bit of it.
I co-founded Chérie AI, a beauty tech startup helping people find makeup that actually works. I built our backend from scratch and shipped a product recommendation engine powered by LLMs, user preferences, and real-time web scraping. We were part of the Innovation Cluster’s Level Up accelerator program and became a top 8 finalist in their pitch competition.
On the side, I co-direct Hack Trent, Trent University’s annual hackathon, where I help organize events that give students the space to learn, build, and ship. I’ve also won two hackathons: Elle Hacks with Net Nanny, a browser extension protecting kids from online threats using AI, and Hack Western with Chill Bill, a Gen Z financial wellness app that blends mental health with budgeting tools.
I’m especially into backend development, web scraping, automation, and building data pipelines. My regular stack includes Flask, FastAPI, and tools like Selenium, Playwright, Pandas, NumPy, and Ollama.
Outside of tech, I play basketball, run long distances for fun, and watch way too much NBA. I admire players like Victor Wembanyama and LeBron James for the same reason I love startups: vision, work ethic, and the relentless belief that you can build something legendary.
